Never that big in the States, Manic Street Preachers are huge in the UK and in other regions of the planet. Their newest album, “Lifeblood” won’t change that standing here in the States, as it sounds pretty much like all the other great stuff they have done.
“Lifeblood” is their first album since 2001, and Manic Street Preachers are currently without a US record contract. Even when they did have one, they were fairly unpopular here. Which, for a fan, was great, as you could see the Manics at Bowery Ballroom in NYC while people in the UK were sitting in the cold at Cardiff Stadium with 50,000 drunken rock fans.
This track, 1985, is the lead track off “Lifeblood”, out November 1, 2004 in the UK.

P.S. The Manics have always reminded witz.org of an indie rock Bon Jovi, which is both a good and bad thing.
